1967 BMW R80/2

1812504, 1967 BMW R60/2. Converted to R75/5 Powered in January of 1970. We have Verbally documented this with the original builder, a now retired Technician at BMW of Indianapolis, as the first R75/5 Powered Conversion of a BMW R60/2 in the USA.

This BMW spent several decades pulling a sidecar with a 3/4 Midget body, 1 of 3 made by Pop Dryer, from Indianapolis.

This BMW was completely disassembled by the previous owner to start a Restoration, and was then completely rebuilt by Re-Psycle, BMW Parts. All parts and systems were Rebuilt or replaced with NEW Parts! We serviced the instrument and reset it to “0” Miles .

The BMW came out Beautiful!! A stainless Hardware kit was used on reassembly. Stainless wheel spokes and hub covers. Excel Shouldered Rims, New Wheel Bearings, New Tires & Tubes. All new cables. New switches. New Knee Rubbers and Foot peg rubbers. New Braided cloth covered Continental Fuel lines. New Header set, and a pair of period correct Aftermarket Sweringen Mufflers were installed to give the motor a  VERY nice rumble without being obnoxious.

When we rebuilt the R75/5 motor, we bored it to 800 CC to give it even more torque. New rod bearings, Timing Chain, New Rings, valves & guides, seals & gaskets kit, higher output generator, Brushes, rebuilt starter, all new bulbs, new Spark plug Wires with BMW Metal Plug Caps, new clutch, reconditioned Pressure plate, new main harness. The Transmission, a /5 Four speed, and Final Drive were rebuilt. New shocks, shock bushings, and Springs installed. Earls fork assembly rebuilt. Denfeld Solo seat, Rear Fender package rack. And much, much more!

Frame, front forks, fenders, fuel tank, etc. painted Glazurit Dover white.

We put 500 easy Break-in miles on the bike, and then performed a second full Service. The bike is now ready to go anywhere.

The Pop Dryer Sidecar has been painted to match, but not yet reassembled. It is available separately. The Sidecar, is 1 of only 3 made with the ¾ midget body. VERY RARE!!!! It is equipped with a Steib fender with a polished aluminum handle with front and rear lights.
