This BMW R80ST is a rare BMW model; it is a street version of their very popular R80GS. Only made in 1983 and 1984, less than 3500 were produced world wide. Shorter than the standard frame bikes, it handles very quickly through the corners, yet remains stable at highway speeds because of it’s superior monoshock rear suspension.
We performed a full BMW recommended Major (10K) Service. We installed a BMW Ground upgrade kit, an upgrade Dyna ignition coil, rebuilt the front brake caliper, installed new front brake pads, new steering neck bearings, and a new battery. The bike has just under 58,000 miles on it, and it is now ready to ride for another 5000 miles before the next BMW Factory recommended Minor (5K) Service will be due.
The bike is equipped with a Corbin Dual Sport seat, BMW Chrome Luggage rack, and Chrome BMW Engine guards. The rear shock appears to be aftermarket, and works very well. The candy red paint is in good physical condition with only minor scratches and normal slight sun fading in some areas. Both front and rear fenders have had optional rear mudguard extensions added. The Bridgstone tires are in very good condition. The original BMW exhaust is in very good condition. The engine has good compression and oil pressure, starts easily, and runs smoothly. The transmission shifts easily and has no unusual noises. All switches and electrics perform properly.
