This beautiful Low Mileage 1975 BMW R90/6 has just had a Major 10K Service, plus the Engine Top End, Rear Main seal, and Oil Pump have all been resealed. The Under Tank Front Master cylinder was rebuilt. The Transmission was bench tested and we determined that nothing was needed. A Factory Recommended Ground Upgrade kit was installed.
The frame, Swingarm, Subframe, battery box, and Center stand paint was touched up, New Steering Bearings were installed. The frame was checked by our BMW Factory Frame Guage as straight. The Front Fork was rebuilt, New Round Foot Peg Covers were Installed. New Bridgestone Tires were Mounted and Balanced
The Carbs were rebuilt, New Control Cables installed, New Continental Braided Cloth covered Fuel Lines were installed with inline Fuel Filters. The Speedo & Tach were Serviced, and the cables were replaced with new. The Rear Brake Shoes were replaced. New Spark Lines with new original style Metal Caps were installed.
The Fuel Tank Liner was stripped out and replaced with POR15. The Tank, Fenders, and Battery Covers were painted Avis Black, and hand pin stripped white in the normal BMW dual stripe pattern. The new paint needs to be rubbed out again, and will be done before the bike is finished.
New Reproduction Exhaust Headers and Mufflers were installed. It is equipped with a pair of Marzocci Shock Asorbers.
This BMW came from Florida, and at some point in the past it had a frame change. The Frame is Tagged FLA31201 as is the practice done by the Florida BMV.
There is a Tool Tray, but no Tool Kit. The Keys for frame, ignition, and seat lock are matching. All electrical components operate properly. We just installed a new battery. This is a VERY nice Vintage BMW, showing no flaws. It starts easily and runs perfectly!
3.12.01 We have just about finished up this BMW, very soon to be done. We want to put a new seat cover on to the seat that belongs with this bike (the one on it now is borrowed from another /6) and a nice chrome seat rear grab rail. Once the weather allows, we will take it out for several extended Test Rides to be sure everything is perfect.
