#6207474. 1983 BMW R80ST, Red. New Battery, New Master Cylinder. Major 10K Service. Matching numbers, clear title. Clean original bike. Only 21,335 miles.

This BMW R80ST is a very rare BMW model; it is a street version of their very popular R80GS. Only made in 1983 and 1984, less than 3500 were produced worldwide. A BMW this rare is destined to appreciate in value yearly. With premium street tires it makes a very torquey twisty road bike that is an absolute blast to ride. Weighing in at only 436 pounds with a full tank of gas, and having a wheel base of less than 57” (much shorter than the standard frame bikes), it is effortless to throw it through corner after corner of the crookedest road you can find. If that road is patched and lumpy and full of potholes, no problem! Bring it on! The rear monoshock handles it with ease! Need to get down the road on the freeway? The engine smoothies out even more the faster you go, and the bike never wants to wobble!

We have just finished going over the bike front to back, making sure everything is perfect. We also just performed the BMW Factory Recommended 10,000 mile service. We installed a BMW Ground upgrade kit, an upgrade Dyna ignition coil, new factory style plug wires with metal caps, new handlebar master cylinder, rebuilt the forks, new steering neck bearings, new Metzeller tires, and a new battery and rubber retaining straps.

We cleaned the carbs and fuel tank. We pulled the transmission to do a clutch spline lube, and while we were there we cleaned and inspected the clutch, finding everything in perfect condition. We found the wheel rims to be dull looking, so we spent the time to hand polish them to make them shine. This bike has only 21,335 miles on it, and it is now ready to ride for another 5000 miles before the next BMW Factory recommended Minor (5K) Service will be due.

Chrome BMW Engine guards are shiny, with a slight scuff on the lower right guard that is only seen when crouching down. The candy red paint is in fair physical condition with some minor scratches, touch-ups, and normal sun fading in some areas, plus some dark streaks on the rear of the front fender from the previously leaky master cylinder. The original BMW exhaust is in very good condition. The brakes are in extremely good condition. The engine has good compression and oil pressure, starts easily, and runs smoothly. The transmission shifts easily and has no unusual noises. All switches and electrics perform properly. The VIN numbers on frame and engine match, contributing to future value.

There is a VERY slight crease in the right rear upper side of the fuel tank, where your knee rests. It is barely visible; you can only see it if you get the light at just the right angle. The paint is undamaged in that area.

After finishing the bike we put over 100 miles of test riding on it, to be absolutely sure everything is working optimally.
